SCOTTSDALE – SCOTTSDALE - Barbara Jean Register, age 96 passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2018, with her family by her side. Barbara was born on March 24, 1922, in Eugene, Oregon. She was the youngest daughter of R.C.(Sam) and Margaret Morris. Barbara graduated from Eugene High School in 1940 and married her high school sweetheart, Frank Register in January, 1942. After the war they establishe­d their home in Eugene and started a family with Jim being born in 1946 and Rod in 1948. She and her family moved to San Bruno, California in 1957 in support of Frank’s job. In 1959 the family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. During her time in Scottsdale she worked for the Scottsdale School District, the Scottsdale Justice Court and at the Arizona State University College of Nursing. She retired from the College of Nursing in 1987. After retirement Barbara volunteere­d at the College of Nursing Community Health Clinics for several years- She and Frank were also able to travel extensivel­y in the United States and abroad until his death in 2000. Barbara was active in the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale, serving in many capacities and was involved in a weekly Bible Study group for many years. She also participat­ed in delivering mobile meals through the church. Barbara was predecease­d by her father and mother R.C. (Sam) and Margaret Morris, Sister Betty Perrin and husband Frank Register. She is survived by two Sons; Jim (Gayla) and Rod (Jane) Register, six grandchild­ren and five greatgrand­children. A private grave side service will be held on the morning of Saturday February 9, 2019, followed by a celebratio­n of Barbara’s life at the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale 12:00 - 2:00 pm. The church is located at 7025 E. Osborn Road. In lieu of flowers the family requests you consider making a donation to your favorite charity.
