Joseph Bushroe Sr.

MESA – August 17, 1932 - January 7th 2019.

Passed away January 7th after an eight week battle following complicati­ons from heart surgery. Joe was an avid golfer and during his golfing career won three Club Championsh­ips as well as shooting a hole in one. He also excelled at bowling, rolling a perfect 300 and numerous 700 series. One of his bowling highlights was a match against profession­al bowler Dick Weber. He loved to stay busy even working right up until the time of his illness. Originally from Ohio, he was an entreprene­ur owning several successful businesses during his lifetime and in his later years he performed sales and estimating services for Crout & Heller Residentia­l & Commercial Painting. Joe served in the Marine Corp and was a Korean War veteran. He was wounded in action in Northern Korea during the Chosin Reservoir campaign in 1950 and was awarded the Purple Heart. Joe loved life, his family and friends. He is survived by his second wife Peggy Bushroe, first wife Joan Monte, daughters Katherine Spychalski, Karyn McDonald, Jennifer Mannon and son Joe Bushroe Jr, sister Joan Szakovits. He is also survived by 8 grandchild­ren and 15 great grandchild­ren. Services will be held privately.
