Time for a TSA sickout so D.C. politicians can feel shutdown

All the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) workers should call in sick this Thursday, which would force at least some of our representatives and senators to stay in Washington, not go home and bring the country to a standstill.

When politicians are actually affected personally by something, they might change their minds and convictions.

On the other hand, maybe it would be better if TSA called in sick Monday and kept them from returning. Things seem to run smoother when Congress is not in session.

Don’t take your taxpayer-funded government job for granted

A shout-out to all the government employees not getting their paychecks. Hello, welcome to the real world! This happens every day in the private sector — companies moving, companies downsizing, layoffs, reorganizations.

Thousands of good, hard-working people are effected and are not even given a thought, let alone guaranteed back pay and enviable health insurance.

Maybe you took your taxpayer funded government job for granted.

Give him a lollipop and reopen the United States government

Just because Donald Trump is acting like a five-year-old spoiled brat having a temper tantrum, is not a reason to continue this government shutdown.

Lifting your middle finger to the taxpayers would have cost less

Hoping the politicians that flew families to Puerto Rico to see “Hamilton” flew over parts of the country that are not being paid due to the shutdown.

No concern for their constituent peons who are trying to figure out how to pay their phone bills!

They could have saved the taxpayers the cost and just given us the finger!

Outlandish!

We need to support the people who defend our national borders

ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers are on the line 24/7 working in incredibily hostile terrain that includes rattle snakes, scorpions, cactus and thorn bushes.

Often in weather too hot, too cold, blowing dust, monsoon rains, flash floods, day and night.

These are the conditions in which they search for people, including armed gangs, illegally entering the country. They are fighting at full capacity to control our borders from many types of threats.

Without them, we would face an uncontrolled tsunami of people entering illegally.

Yet we criticize and obstruct them at every turn. We create sanctuaries where criminals continue to harm our people yet cannot be touched.

When ICE seems to be barely holding its own, a segment of our country cheers on their adversaries.

What kind of sick twisted mind attacks the people who defend you. A physical barrier, once built, is not impaired by weather, fatigue, lack of funds and political whims.

A little cutting back on Trump’s extravagances would do the trick

Add up all the tax dollars Trump has spent on trips to Mar-a-Lago and photo ops on the border and our federal employees could have been paid today.
