DESERT HILLS – David Franklin Baker, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior January 29, 2019. He was born on September 18, 1939 to Osha and Lytton Baker in Wise, Virginia.

He began his career at Ray Lumber and retired from Shuck Components. His passion in life was to sing and play gospel music.

He met and married the love of his life Patricia Hughes Baker in 1961. They had two children Elizabeth Ann and David, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia ‘Patty’; his mother Osha and father Lytton; and sister MaryBelle McPherson.

David is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Ruddell (James); son David (Tammera); five Grandchild­ren Amanda, Christina, Caitlyn, Aerin and Logan; two Great-grandchild­ren Madeleine and Olivia; brother Kenneth Baker (Marie); sister Betty Miller; his best friend and singing partner Rose Mullins; and his sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Dave did not know a stranger and loved sharing his love for the Lord through his music. He will be sorely missed by all. This is not goodbye but so long until we meet again.

Visitation is at 11:00 AM, followed by funeral service at 12:00 PM Monday, February 4, 2019 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix 85020. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern, Glendale 85301. Visit https://www.hansenmort­uary.com for condolence­s.
