PHOENIX – Aaron John Kubisko passed away peacefully, at the age of 40, on January 21, 2019 at home surrounded by family and love. He battled nearly 9 remarkable years with ALS without any complaint and only gratitude for the years he had.

Aaron was born March 2, 1978, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Always an excellent student, he attended grade school in the Kyrene school district and then high school at Brophy College Preparatory, graduating in 1996. He went on to earn a B.S. in Zoology at ASU, as well as a surgical technician certification. He was a lifelong learner with a passion for science and interests in microbiology, German studies, and pathology.

Aaron enjoyed camping, hiking, good beer, computer, video and board games, music, books, movies, travel and most of all family. Nothing brought him more happiness than watching his nephews and niece grow. He paid special attention to their accomplishments, and gave the most thoughtful gifts and encouragement.

Aaron was living in Mesa and working at LabCorp when he was diagnosed with ALS. He later returned to the family home in Ahwatukee, where his mother Nancy Kubisko provided excellent care for over 6 years, for which Aaron and his family are eternally grateful.

He will be remembered best by his family and friends as a kind, thoughtful and gentle soul. He was proceeded in death by his father John D. Kubisko and is survived by his mother, Nancy Kubisko, sister Jessica Baronas, brother-in-law Nerijus Baronas, best friends Keith Lacey and family and Chad Aubuchon, nephews Aidan, David and niece Evalina, Aunts Melanie Ledman, Beth Guzman, and Mary Henry and cousins Michelle Karver, Rob Guzman, Tracy Leaf, Kimberly Gower, Cheryl Meyers, Tom Ledman, Randy Ledman, and Connie Ledman. Special thanks to all the friends and family who made special visits to Aaron during his difficult journey, and who helped to make his 40th birthday celebration a memorable send-off.
