TrioJazz organist Joey DeFrancesco was still a teenager when he released his first record and went on tour with Miles Davis, who inspired him to pick up the trumpet as well. His latest, “In the Key of the Universe,” features some freejazz excursions to go swing-oriented repertoire; All About Jazz calls it “an important, even historic album.”
