Does every vote really count if non-citizens are included?

- Wayne Murray, Phoenix Anne-Marie Meegan, Sun City against Ken Doerfler, Glendale not Robert Sussman, Paradise Valley George Messersmith, Mesa Duke Mertz, Chandler

How ironic that those who want to eliminate the Electoral College because of the three-fifths clause regarding slavery are so willing to include non-citizens in the upcoming U.S. Census.

They would “make every vote count” in the Electoral College, but would dilute the same citizen’s vote on the census that determines governmental representation of the citizenry.

In gratitude to the firefighters who risk their lives for all of us

Tonight I watched for the first time “Only the Brave,” the story of the men who fought the 2013 Yarnell fire.

We lived in Dewey prior to the 2013 fire. We are thankful for those who rescue people and place their lives on the line for us.

Why is it good for the Democrats and bad for the Republicans?

Kinda funny how Laurie Roberts finds the time to notice that Rep. Martha McSally pretty much votes in lockstep with President Trump, while at the same time she seems to notice how every single Democratic senator and member of Congress votes in lockstep

whatever the president tries to put forth.

So it’s OK when the Dems do it? Eh, Laurie?

❚ by Donald Trump and his staff during the 2016 election.

In what must have been great frustration, he reported he could not find evidence of criminal behavior. Not content to leave it at that, he then said he could not be certain the president had not committed crimes.

You don’t have to be a lawyer to know that investigations either lead to an indictment or the matter is closed. Prosecutors don’t attempt to lay the grounds for an open-ended investigation that has nothing to do with the alleged crime.

Yet, Mr. Mueller did exactly that. He provided an excuse for the House to look anywhere to find justification to impeach President Trump. It was a political maneuver to get rid of a man he intensely dislikes.

Someone should inform Mr. Mueller that our judicial system is not meant to be a political weapon. The scales of justice are meant to be blind and impartial not corrupt.

Maybe the United States Senate needs to enter the new century

Asking as a taxpayer, why do we spend thousands of dollars on transportation for a ceremonial gavel tap from Senator Martha McSally in Washington, D.C., when technology such as FaceTime or Skype could take care from Tucson at zero cost?

Archaic rules, perhaps?

Why isn’t a fetus sacred if it’s conceived of rape or incest?

of it

I don’t understand the abortion debate. If a fetus is sacrosanct, there should be no exceptions. An embryo conceived during rape or child molestation should be just as protected as one brought into being by married couples.

If we really wanted to eliminate unwanted fetuses, we would insist on universal contraception, no matter how inconvenient or embarrassing. Such procedures are far less injurious than abortions.
