The Cardinals will be adding some new signage at State Farm Stadium. The team announced Tuesday that it will induct quarterback Carson Palmer into its Ring of Honor.

Palmer, who played five seasons in Arizona, will be inducted at halftime of the game vs. Seattle on Sept. 29 at State Farm Stadium.

His .642 winning percentage is the best for a starting quarterback in team history, and he holds the franchise’s single-season records for passing yards (4,671), touchdowns (35) and passer rating (104.6), all of which he set in 2015.

The team announced the news on Twitter, sharing video of President Michael Bidwill FaceTiming

a

Palmer to share the exciting news.

"I've never FaceTimed with you, this is a first," Palmer told Bidwill, just before Bidwill broke the news.

"No way! Are you serious?" Palmer said. "That's amazing, I am beyond honored. No way, that is so cool!"

Palmer was ecstatic about the news, saying his only regret is that he did not end up in Arizona earlier: "Five years was not enough for me."

Palmer was acquired by the Cardinals in a trade with Oakland prior to the 2013 season. He played seven years, the majority of his career, for the Cincinnati Bengals, who took him with the first overall pick in the 2003 draft. He then spent two years with the Raiders before finishing his playing career in Arizona.

Palmer will be the 18th member of the Ring of Honor and just the third quarterback, alongside Jim Hart and Kurt Warner.

The other 15 members are: Charles W. Bidwill, Sr. (owner), Jimmy Conzelman (coach), Dan Dierdorf (tackle), HB John “Paddy” Driscoll (halfback), Marshall Goldberg (halfback/defensive back), Roy Green (wide receiver), Dick “Night Train” Lane (cornerback), Ollie Matson, Ernie Nevers (halfback), Pat Tillman (safety), Charley Trippi (halfback), Roger Wehrli (cornerback), Aeneas Williams (cornerback), Adrian Wilson (safety) and Larry Wilson (safety).
