Sheriff’s Office seeks help in locating woman abducted from Youngtown

- Aubrey Carpenter and Perry Vandell

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a woman who was abducted Sunday evening, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The unknown Hispanic woman was last seen running away from a man, screaming for help at around 6:07 p.m., according to Sgt. Bryant Vanegas, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office.

She was chased in the area of 11049 W. U.S. 60 in Youngtown, where she was forced inside of a black 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, Vanegas said.

The passenger side of the vehicle sustained minor damage from backing out and leaving the area at a high rate of speed, he added. Officials believe the license plate of the vehicle was AE9W27 out of California.

Surveillance footage released by the Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon shows a man with a shaved head wearing a black T-shirt and dark pants shoving the woman toward a nearby building.

In the video, the man then grabs the woman by the back of her neck and pushes her toward the pickup truck before placing her in the back seat on the

driver’s side.

The footage then shows the truck backing out into the street as a pedestrian on a cellphone attempts to flag down the driver while approaching the fleeing truck.

The Sheriff’s Office says it is possible the woman involved in this incident is in danger.

The woman was described as Hispanic, possibly in her mid-30s, with dark hair and eyes, and between 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches with a weight between 140 to 170 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a black dress with sandals, and the man, possibly in his 30s, was wearing a black T-shirt with white graphic and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff ’s Office at 602-876-1011.
