MURRAY WATCH

- — Bob McManaman

In recognition of the intrigue surrounding rookie quarterback Kyler Murray, the Cardinals’ No.1 overall pick in this year’s draft, azcentral sports offers a daily update, when applicable, of his performance during training camp.

Monday’s highlights: As usual, there were a lot of highs and a handful of lows. The negatives included a couple of interceptions, one by cornerback Robert Alford and another by safety D.J. Sweainger, who drop-kicked the football after the pick. Another down moment came on a deep fade to Christian Kirk that was nowhere near the receiver. Murray said later there was complete miscommunication between the two. Positive moments included a nice motion play with Kirk in which Murray led him perfectly on the throw, a dime on a deep go route to Trent Sherfield, excellent touch on dump passes to Chade Edmonds and quick, tight-window tosses to Larry Fitzgerald on some crossing routes.

Snapshot: Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Murray will play more than one series Thursday night against the Raiders at State Farm Stadium. But he couldn’t say how much more.

"We'll see how the game's going, but definitely more than one drive," Kingsbury said.

He said it: "To be honest, I don’t really care. It is what it is. You have to have a short memory. But for me, it's just a learning experience. Most of the time it's us not being on the same page. I give credit where credit is due but usually, it's on us. So it is what it is. I can't really hold on to it too long. It’s next play." – Murray when asked how much it bothers him when he has passes intercepted in training camp practices.
