Sophie Gerber, Scottsdale Desert Mountain, Girls Basketball
On Dec. 13, Desert Mountain senior guard and leading scorer Sophie Gerber played the best basketball game of her life. Gerber posted a careerhigh 41 points in a 71-38 rout of Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep.
She is modest about receiving the credit of scoring more than half of her team's total points.
“I am grateful to be able to provide for my team, our culture and to be able to contribute to Desert Mountain girls basketball history," Gerber said. "Without my teammates, this achievement would not be possible and I am thankful to have my incredible teammates by my side.”
