SCOTTSDALE – Jane, 73, Scottsdale, has peacefully flown off into the West. Brought into this world November 22, 1946, by her parents, William and Grace; She left our earthly bounds surrounded by her family, December 19, 2019. Jane is survived by, her husband of 50 years, Neal; son Leif (Ashley); grandchild­ren Winston and Norah; siblings Philip, Helen (Alan), Edward (Sara); many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Raised in Whitestone, NY, Jane met Neal while attending Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Married in 1969, she moved to Phoenix in 1972. An MBA in hand, Jane taught Business at local community colleges. After bearing her only child Leif, she took an active role of raising him and supporting Neal’s law practice. Managing their business properties Jane became a licensed Real Estate Broker.

Always walking with spunk in her step, Jane was a well known walker and biker plying the trails of Scottsdale. In her teens and early adulthood, she was an accomplish­ed tennis player and instructor. Jane had continued athletic success, finishing as the 2nd fastest US woman in the 1989 National Masters Track and Field 10k Championsh­ip. She also liked to recreation­ally downhill and cross country ski.

Jane enjoyed traveling the world with her family. A 1st generation American, Jane often visited extended family in England and extensivel­y traveled Europe. She traveled to Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union before the Iron Curtain came down. Jane fulfilled a childhood dream, visiting Cuba 2 years ago. Jane’s last travel adventure was her 50th wedding anniversar­y trip to culturally and religiousl­y rich Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Israel.

Most important was her family. Jane, was proud of her grandchild­ren and loved traveling to see all her cousins, nieces and nephews. Her vivacious spirit will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 3rd at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, 4455 E. Lincoln Dr. A reception celebratin­g her life will be held at 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post #44, 7145 E. 2nd St, Scottsdale. Donations may be made to the Church or American Legion.
