Life is unpredictable and accidents happen. We cannot always prevent them, but we can always prepare.

When unforeseen events happen in your apartment home, it’s important that we do everything we can to protect ourselves and our valuables.

While the owner of the apartment community most likely has insurance policies the cover the building and common areas in the community, it’s your responsibility to insure your personal belongings and shield yourself from liability.

What does renter’s insurance cover?

Natural hazards: If a small fire breaks out in the kitchen or a pipe burst causing a flood in your bathroom, the damage and repair process can be costly. Having renter’s insurance will help cover some of these costs. Weather damage like a leak in your ceiling after a rainstorm falls under the renter’s insurance umbrella as well.

Burglary and vandalism: If someone breaks into your apartment home and steals or destroys your belongings, your renter’s insurance will cover that. However, know that the property owner’s insurance does not cover any destroyed or stolen items from a home invasion.

Some injuries: If a guest staying in your apartment home falls and hurts themselves, they could potentially sue you for damages or medical bills, your renter’s insurance will help protect you from paying everything out of pocket.

Temporary housing: There may have been an accident that happened in your home that forces you to move out while your space is being repaired. If that occurs, having renter’s insurance will help cover the costs of temporary housing.

Get insured so you can ensure the security of your apartment home, your belongings and yourself.
