Try these Scottsdale restaurants by WestWorld
Every January, the Barrett-Jackson auto auction rolls into Scottsdale with the nine-day event featuring more than 1,000 cars, trucks and other vehicles on display and for sale at WestWorld of Scottsdale.
Whether gearing up for a day at the auction, or celebrating the purchase of a new hot rod, all that excitement is likely to work up an appetite. Luckily, WestWorld is surrounded by an array of excellent restaurants and bars to eat and drink.
From a French toast brunch to a local Arizona brewery, here are some restaurants and bars to try while in town from Jan. 11-19 during the 2020 Barrett-Jackson car auction.
Breakfast and brunch near the auction
Breakfast Kitchen Bar
This brunch spot has something for everyone, as one page of the menu is dedicated to syrupy brunch classics and the other is full of healthy breakfast options. Chow down on breakfast nachos or sip a fruit-packed smoothie. Dine inside the modern yet comfortable space or take in Arizona’s version of winter on the patio.

Hash Kitchen prides itself on its enormous build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. So, if you really want to get the action started early, this is the place for breakfast or brunch. Outside of towering meals in a glass, the menu also includes creative brunch options such as smoked salmon hash, bagel breakfast sliders and banana split brioche French toast.

Affordable options for lunch
Four Peaks Grill & Tap
Four Peaks is Arizona’s largest brewery. Headquartered in Tempe, the brewery has pub locations around the Valley with one right next to WestWorld. Hop on over for a pint of Kilt Lifter Scottish Style Ale and a lamb burger. The menu also includes a taste of the Southwest with green chiles, pecan smoked red chile pork and chipotle ranch sprinkled throughout the burger, plus pizza and sandwich options. Wash it all down with an Oatmeal Stout milkshake for dessert.

Teharu Sushi
For a fun and budget friendly lunch option, head to Teharu Sushi, where little plates pass by on a conveyor belt. 15745 N. Hayden Road, 480-991-1795, fourpeaks.com.
Each person in the group can eat as little or as much as they want, just collect up the color-coded plates at the end to pay. For those who aren’t excited about raw fish, the restaurant offers options including chicken and beef teriyaki rice bowls, udon and ramen noodle soups as well.

For those looking to splurge on a high-dining experience, Bourbon Steak inside the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is the place to be. It’s one of the best steakhouses in Phoenix, and luckily for those going to Barrett-Jackson, it’s right down the road.

North Italia
North Italia is the definition of modern Italian dining. Although a chain with multiple locations across state lines, the restaurant feels chic yet cozy and fits right in at Kierland Commons near Scottsdale. Start the meal off with a prosciutto laden chef ’s board or Italian meatballs. Segue into a dinner of pizza, roasted salmon or beef tenderloin and don’t miss the unique jet black noodles in the Squid Ink Mafaldine.

Chauncey Social
If you’re looking for an upbeat new restaurant to try, head to Chauncey Social. The restaurant opened in December and features a menu of American food with Asian and Italian influences. Try short rib Hawaiian bun sliders or Pasta Carne, a classic Italian bolognese with a Southwest twist. After dinner, stay for music and drinks. The bar serves a variety of cocktails including the tropical Coco Chanel and Paloma Rosa garnished with rose petals.

Skeptical Chymist
If someone said there’s an authentic Irish pub squashed into a Scottsdale strip mall, it might be hard to believe. But the Skeptical Chymist has made it happen. Stop by for a Guinness or enjoy corned beef and cabbage if you get hungry. Happy hour runs 3-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and drink specials rotate daily.

The Vig McDowell Mountain
Slide up to the bar or lounge on the patio at The Vig for a relaxed end to the night. The full service restaurant serves late night eats along with a full beer, wine and cocktail menu. Sip on a Vig Manhattan or a Cold Brew Old Fashioned while playing lawn games and taking in the desert scenery at this upscale hangout.

Sorso Wine Room
For wine fans, Sorso Wine Room is the perfect place to relax after a day at the auction. The wine bar features 32 wines in self-pour dispensers and 150 wines by the bottle along with 18 craft beers. If you want to take a bottle back to the hotel, Sorso also has a wine and beer market with discounted bottles. Happy hour is 3-6 p.m. daily and all day on Wednesdays.
