Lizzo buys lunch for health care workers
If Lizzo’s “shinin’ everybody gonna shine,” and the pop star’s been paying it forward during the pandemic.
The “Good as Hell” singer apparently surprised health care workers at Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center with lunch on Monday.
In recent months, the Grammy winner has bought lunch for medical professionals across the country who are working to combat the coronavirus in Detroit, Dayton, San Diego and now, it seems, Chandler.
Lizzo picked up the tab from Dilly’s
Sandwiches in Tempe, according to a social media post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The catering fed 75 people.
‘We thank you Lizzo’
“We thank you Lizzo and we thank our hard working health professionals,” the post said.
Dilly’s Tempe manager Salma Ortiz said they didn’t know the order was from Lizzo but workers were excited once the Arizona health care workers surprised with Dilly’s found out from a note on the order.
“The note said, ‘Tell them it’s from Lizzo,’” Ortiz told The Arizona Republic.

“We’re such a tiny place I don’t know how she found us,“Ortiz said. “We really appreciate that she ordered from us and we were able to this.”
Lizzo is no stranger to making her mark in the Valley, in 2019 Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego declared Oct. 23 as the city’s Lizzo Day.
