Caren Louise Shropshire

PEORIA – Caren Louise Shropshire, of Peoria, 70, went to her Lord on the 26th of July 2020. She was born in August 1949, in Prescott, the daughter of Cleberne Clark Creighton and Louise Marie Moore.

In 1968 she married Jerry Shropshire. They celebrated 51 years of marriage. She had a successful career in nursing, working at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 30 years. Later she obtained her Masters in Advanced Practice becoming a Nurse Practitioner. She provided care to the underserved for 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her twin sister Claudia Creighton, and her brother Cory Creighton.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Shropshire, her children, daughter Heather (Bill) Gordon, twin sons Shawn Shropshire, Steven (Jennifer) Shropshire, and Spencer (Prudence) Shropshire, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters Cauleen Creighton (Art Koskela), and Cristen (Lance) Hinderleider.

Caren was a source of strength and help for all who knew her. She served others at Christ Church of the Valley for over 15 years. We are the poorer for her passing and the richer by having been touched by her healing loving hands. She touched the hearts of so many including her family, friends, coworkers, patients, and so many countless others. She will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

The Celebration of Life will be at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Road, Peoria, Building 4000 at 1pm on August 27, 2020.
