$30M spent on 5 of metro Phoenix’s priciest homes

More than $30 million in cash was spent on metro Phoenix’s five priciest home sales this week. Two of the most expensive houses on the list won design awards in 2020.

$7,500,000

Hedge fund trader Morris Sachs and his wife, Sheryl, bought a mansion in north Scottsdale’s exclusive Silverleaf community. The couple, from Greenwich, Connecticu­t, purchased an 8,700square-foot house that has a "Palo Alto pretty feel," two laundry rooms, a lap pool and a guest house, according to the listing.

John and Tracy Eddy sold the home, which has seven bedrooms and 71⁄2 bathrooms. John Eddy is an executive with Denver-based Marmik Oil.

$7,137,000

The Joseph Hogan Trust of Bozeman, Montana, bought a Paradise Valley house nestled next to Camelback Mountain that won an honor from the American Institute of Architects last year. The modern 4,800-square-foot residence with walls of glass has a steel outside designed to meld into the mountain. The trust purchased the house, with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, from real estate agent Shawna Glazier.

$5,250,000

A Delaware LLC called NHE Investment­s paid cash for an 8,000-square-foot house in Paradise Valley's gated Finisterre subdivisio­n. It has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a climate-controlled wine room, an onyx bar and a master wing with a fireplace and workout room.

Bonnie and Randall Voegeli sold the home. Randall Voegeli co-founded Exacta Aerospace in 1978. The home was listed by the Karas Group of Launch Real Estate.

$5,200,000

John and Veronica Kelly of Texas purchased a 6,700-square-foot modern house that was named the 2020 Iconic Haus by luxury living magazine Iconic Life. The residence, with four bedrooms and

5 12 ⁄ bathrooms, was built as a designer show house with the latest technology in appliances, home automation and window coverings as well as elevated flooring, Italian tiles and custom wallpapers. Jayjoe LLC, led by Joe Cannata, sold the house.

$5,000,000

The Schenkel Trust, led by Scott and Kimberly Schenkel, bought a 9,900square-foot mansion in north Scottsdale’s Estancia community. The home, situated on two lots, was designed for indoor/ outdoor living. It has four bedrooms, 4 ⁄2

1 bathrooms and views of the 17th hole of the community's golf course. The Hoak Trust, led by James and Nancy Hoak, sold the house.
