Devils 6, SABRES 3:

Jesper Boqvist scored the go-ahead goal with 11:15 remaining and the Devils overcame the disappoint­ment of having two key veteran forwards traded to beat the Sabres. Pavel Zacha scored two power-play goals, and Jack Hughes snapped a 10game scoring drought while adding two assists.

HURRICANES 3, Panthers 0: Alex Nedeljkovi­c made 24 saves for his third career shutout, all in his last 12 games, and Vincent Trocheck scored another goal against his former team as the Hurricanes defeated the Panthers. Carolina moved ahead of Florida in the closely contested Central Division.

Jets 4, CANADIENS 2: Connor Hellebuyck made 36 saves and the Jets beat the Canadiens to open a five-game trip. Josh Morrissey, Trevor Lewis, Nikolaj Ehlers and Andrew Copp scored for the Jets.

ISLANDERS 3, Flyers 2, SO: Brock Nelson scored in regulation and got the only goal in a five-round shootout to give the Islanders a win over the Flyers. Ilya Sorokin made 25 saves for the Islanders.

Penguins 5, RANGERS 2: Kris Letang and Evan Rodrigues scored in the second period, and the Penguins beat the Rangers. Tristan Jarry stopped 22 shots to help Pittsburgh snap a two-game skid.

Oilers 3, SENATORS 1: Devin Shore broke a tie with 7:02 left, Mike Smith made 39 saves and the Oilers swept the ninegame season series. Kailer Yamamoto and Jesse Puljujarvi, into an empty net, also scored for Edmonton. Connor Brown tied a franchise record by scoring in a sixth straight game for Ottawa.

Bruins 4, CAPITALS 2: Brad Marchand scored a shorthande­d goal, Jeremy Swayman made 31 saves to win his second NHL start and the Bruins beat the Capitals. Jeremy Lauzon, Anton Blidh and Craig Smith also scored for Boston.

Lightning 6, BLUE JACKETS 4: Tampa Bay scored three times in the first six minutes of the game, Andrei Vasilevski­y made 32 saves and the Lightning beat the Blue Jackets. Blake Coleman roofed a shot 58 seconds in, and then Steven Stamkos and Barclay Goodrow scored a minute apart to put the Blue Jackets in an early hole.

Predators 7, RED WINGS 1: Viktor Arvidsson scored three times to lead the surging Predators in a win over the Red Wings. Juuse Saros stopped 25 shots for Nashville, who has won nine of its last 10 games.

Stars 5, BLACKHAWKS 1: Blake Comeau scored twice, Roope Hintz had a goal and three assists and the Stars beat the Blackhawks to end a two-game losing streak.

Canucks at FLAMES (ppd): The Canucks said on Wednesday that 25 players and coaches have tested positive in a COVID-19 outbreak involving a variant of the virus. Six Canucks games have now been postponed.
