No comparing summer protests and Jan. 6. Latter was far worse.

Can we finally stop the ridiculous equivalency arguments of BLM protests marches and the Jan. 6 insurrection? Letter writer Grant Brooks doesn’t want to. He sees the two as equivalents. And he doesn’t want to be lectured by Democrats. Are you lecturing again Democrats? In fact, the BLM protests did cause some property damage to buildings. Not good. But the reason to protest was good, perpetual social justice issues around police brutality.

The Jan. 6 event was a planned insurrection against our federal governmental processes. Those involved had plans to handcuff legislators and chant violence to the then-vice president, Mike Pence.

Mr. Brooks, the two are not equivalent. Sorry. You have to look reality in the eye. Antifa, BLM and FBI were not there. Trump Republicans were. They carried white supremacy flags and had bad intentions from the very beginning.
