Peek inside Wild Horse Pass hotel’s Suns-themed room
Instead of sleeping under the stars, you can sleep under the glow of the Phoenix Suns’ historic run to the NBA Finals with a staycation in a room created to celebrate the Valley’s basketball team.
The Phoenix Suns themed room is at Gila River Hotels & Casinos’ Wild Horse Pass hotel on the Gila River Reservation south of Phoenix. The resort also has themed rooms for Phoenix’s other professional sports teams: the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Coyotes.
The casino created the room in November 2020 right after it became an official sponsor of the Phoenix Suns.
Along with Suns themed bedding, décor and memorabilia, the room has fun features like a wall mural where you can compare your height to famous Suns players like Devin Booker and Steve Nash.
Teaya Vicente, a spokesperson for the resort, said Wild Horse Pass has seen increased demand for the room thanks in part to the Suns’ historic run at the 2021 NBA championship.
“There’s just a lot of cool unique little features inside of the room that people have just been ... they love it,” Vicente said.
The price fluctuates, but a quick scan of the online booking site showed sports themed rooms starting at $130 a night for a midweek stay. Fans can book the Suns room by calling 800-946-4452 or going to https://playatgila.com.
The room isn’t the only tribute Gila River has for the Valley’s beloved basketball team. If you’re feeling especially lucky after a Suns win, all three Gila River Casinos have table games with Suns themed felt and chips.
