Billy Hugh Dubberly, 77, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 30th, 2021. Bill was born in Glennville, GA and was the youngest son of Mr. Alvin and Mrs. Helen Dubberly. He joined the Air Force in 1961, and was last stationed at Langley Air Force Base, in Hampton, VA. In 1964, he married the love of his life, Geraldine. Bill left the Air Force in 1968 to join Newport News Shipbuildi­ng and Drydock Company where he had a 40 year career in shipbuildi­ng. In 2017, he and his wife of 57 years moved permanentl­y to Phoenix, AZ in order to be closer to his son and his family.

Bill was an avid handyman and enjoyed volunteeri­ng his time to church projects. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, their son, Rob and daughter in law, Grace, of Phoenix, and their three children, Robert II, Hugh, and Grant. He is also survived by his sister Libby Sapp of Glennville, GA, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services took place at Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA on Saturday, October 16, followed by burial services at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, VA.

A Celebratio­n of Life is scheduled for Tuesday, November 23rd, at 7 p.m. at Foothills Baptist Church, 15450 South 21st Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85048.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the following individual­s: the entire staff at Mountain Park Senior Living, led by Jason Konrad, Dr. Joshua Bloomberg and his staff, the radiation technician­s as well as the staff and doctors at the Ironwood Cancer & Research Center of Gilbert, AZ, and in particular Dr. Eric T. Gross, who went above and beyond and whose compassion and care were genuine and transparen­t always.
