Dye leads No. 11 Tennessee to rout of Tennessee Tech

No. 11 Tennessee 76, Tennessee Tech 48: Alexus Dye had 20 points and nine rebounds, Tamari Key added 11 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks, and host Tennessee beat Tennessee Tech on Wednesday night.

Tess Darby gave Tennessee its only double-digit lead of the first half on a 3pointer to make it 30-19 and Dye scored the final eight Volunteer points of the half for a 38-30 lead.

Darby finished with 12 points, on four 3-pointers, for Tennessee (7-0), which plays at Virginia Tech on Sunday. Dye was 10 of 15 from the field.

Anna Jones scored 12 points for Tennessee Tech (2-5). The Golden Eagles were outrebound­ed 53-27.

No. 16 Kentucky 83, West Virginia 60: Rhyne Howard scored 27 points, Dre’una Edwards had a double-double with six blocks and host Kentucky rolled over West Virginia in the Big 12/SEC

Challenge.

Edwards had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (5-1) and Jada Walker scored 11 points. Howard was 5 of 7 from 3-point range and had seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

West Virginia (4-2) was 7 of 16 in the first quarter with three 3s and finished with four 3s and 23 of 62 (37%).

Kirsten Dean scored 20 points and Esmery Martinez 14 for the Mountainee­rs, who dropped out of the Top 25 after losing to BYU by one point last week.

No. 17 Texas A&M 65, Little Rock 50: Kayla Wells and Destiny Pitts each scored 15 points and host Texas A&M beat Little Rock.

Coach Gary Blair tied Shelby Metcalf’s Aggie record of 438 victories at A&M. Metcalf coached the men’s basketball program at A&M from 1963-90, amassing a 438-306 record.

Aaliyah Patty had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Texas A&M (8-0), which hosts No. 15 Texas on Sunday. Wells, making her 100th consecutiv­e start, was 5 of 9 from the field and the Aggies shot 46.2%.

Raziya Potter scored 23 points to lead Little Rock (4-4), which was seeking its first victory at College Station.

UC Davis 64, No. 18 (tie) Oregon 47: Sage Stobbart scored all 11 of her points in the second half and visiting UC Davis ended Oregon’s 44-game home winning streak against nonconfere­nce opponents. It was the Aggies’ first win over a nationally ranked opponent since moving to Division I in 2003.

Stobbart sank a 3-pointer to open the second half for the Aggies (4-2), who trailed 35-34 at halftime, and hit another 3 to cap a 17-6 run .

Oregon (3-3) trailed 53-46 entering the fourth and closed the gap to four points on a 3-pointer by Sydney Parrish, but Stobbart answered with a layup and a 3-pointer to up the Aggies’ lead to 5849 with 6:48 left to play. Maddie Scherr’s layup cut Oregon’s deficit to 6056 with 2:56 remaining, but the Ducks went scoreless from there.

Cierra Hall led UC Davis with 13 points. Stobbart hit 4 of 8 shots – 3 of 6 from distance – and added eight rebounds. Evanne Turner had 11 points, while Lena Svanholm scored 10.

No. 23 Oregon State 76, Pacific 72: Talia von Oelhoffen made a go-ahead 3pointer with under a minute to play and sank two free throws with 1.5 seconds left, and host Oregon State beat Pacific to spoil Anaya James’ 31-point performanc­e.

Von Oelhoffen hit an open 3-pointer from the wing with one second remaining on the shot clock to give Oregon State a 72-70 lead, and James answered at the other end to tie it with 44.5 left.

Von Oelhoffen led Oregon State (4-2) with 18 points. Taylor Jones added 15 points and Ellie Mack had 10.

James was 10 of 22 from the field, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range, for Pacific (2-5).
