Dennis Ronald Buccigrossi

Dennis Buccigrossi passed away November 13, 2021, at age 62.

Born in New Jersey in 1959 as the youngest of 5 siblings, Dennis carried a little of his back East roots, and a lot of his Italian heritage, across the country when he and his parents, Mary and Alfonso, along with his sister, Joann, moved to Arizona in 1968. Fun was had as a teen in the 70s—fun he didn’t tell his kids about until they were grown—and he graduated from Maryvale High School in 1977.

As an adult, Dennis was a successful and loyal employee. In 1980, he began working for Allied Signal, where he spent 20 years. This was proceeded by another 19 with the United States Postal Service where he worked proudly, gently scolding his family if they ever mailed packages FedEx or UPS.

Dennis was also a master of the kitchen, channeling his Italian roots to make spaghetti and meatballs that were often asked for by request.

His true passion though lied in construction and being an all-around MacGyver with a toolbelt. If he didn’t know how to build or fix something, he’d figure it out. The only safety hazard Dennis ever created on the job was confusing people with a detailed explanation of how he did what he did.

Some of these confused, but grateful, recipients of his handyman skills are those loved ones by whom he is survived, including his much-beloved wife of 29 years, Brenda, who lives in the home he remodeled for them with extreme precision and care. He also leaves behind three daughters, Christina (Kat), Lauren, and Alyssa, who all talk with their hands just like their dad. His nephew, Zachary, also held a special place in his life.

Dennis was blessed with 6 grandchildren. Kat’s 3 boys Brendan, Colin, and Xander; and Lauren’s triplets Jase, Payton, and Adam; all of whom miss their grandpa dearly but already show signs of carrying on his legacy, whether it be their love for building, cooking, or hand gesturing.

A private celebration of life for Dennis will be held for family and close friends.
