SUN CITY WEST – Larry L. Gast Sr., 82, passed away on Dec. 1, 2021. He was born in Plymouth, Indiana to the late John and Clara Gast, and is survived by his children, Larry L. (Patty) Gast II, Jeff A. (Patti) Gast, and Angie R. (Steve) Salais; 8 grandchild­ren, 10 great-grandchild­ren, his sister Bev, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Sandy, siblings Norm, Carol, and John Jay.

Raised in Plymouth and South Bend, Larry first moved to Phoenix in 1956 where he joined the Navy, serving throughout the Pacific on a destroyer as a radioman. After his enlistment, he returned to South Bend and married Sandy R. Miller on March 10, 1962, until her death on June 8, 1998.

Larry worked repairing and servicing jukeboxes and vending equipment throughout Michiana with several vending companies while completing a finance education at the South Bend College of Commerce. Relocating to Phoenix in 1977, Larry started and operated several successful vending companies, including Allied Amusement, and was known for his honesty, service, and integrity. Many of his business associates became lifelong friends.

Outside of work, Larry enjoyed 50’s music, sailing, Notre Dame football, luxury cruises in Hawaii, and attending church. He always loved the company of his family at work in the business, on birthdays and holidays, and all backyard get togethers. A good day for Larry was getting to visit, know, and talk with people.

Services will be on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave. in Glendale. Visitation will begin at 12 PM, and funeral service will follow at 12:30PM with internment at Resthaven Park Cemetery following services.
