Robin Christine Rodriguez Wood (Austin)

MESA – Robin Christine Rodriguez Wood (Austin), 51 of Mesa, AZ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Robin was born November 11, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Robert and Christine Austin. Robin is survived by her husband Michael, her son Anthony Rodriguez, her parents Robert Austin and Christine Austin (deceased), her sister Amy Austin, her niece Phoenix Peck, her nephew Elijah Peck, her mother-in-law Anne Wood, and her father-in-law Franklin Wood (deceased). Robin is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Robin graduated from Mountain View High School class of 1989 and attended Arizona State University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She also has two Master’s degrees from Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. Robin spent most of her educational career working for the Mesa Public School District. She began as a bilingual elementary teacher, mentored and coached educators as a Curriculum Specialist and in her final years was an Assistant Principal prior to retiring from education. Robin married Michael on September 21, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada. When Robin was not working, she spent most of her time with her family and loved ones. She loved to go to the beach, visiting Las Vegas and family trips to Disneyland. The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors, hospitals, and staff for all their hard work. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be given to your favorite charity. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. George Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11:30AM, located at 300 E. 16th Ave., Apache Junction, AZ, 85119. Internment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery located at 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ, 85207.
