If Putin takes his invasion further, just what are we prepared to do?

-

I am unquestionably, unequivocally, absolutely opposed to the United States becoming the world’s policeman.

That said, I am a loss to understand what our current administration’s plan is.

Apparently, the United States is willing to allow the total destruction of Ukraine and the displacement of it’s entire population.

There is absolutely no evidence thus far, that we are willing to do anything to stop Vladimir Putin, other than sanctions.

Our position appears to be that if we make the Russian people suffer, deprive them of their Big Macs, Putin will cease the offensive.

Not entirely sure that will work because I doubt Vlad eats many Big Macs. He is not suffering.

On the contrary he pronounces himself a hero and defender of Russia.

If Sweden and Finland are attacked because Putin claims they are governed by Nazis and are no longer an acceptable buffer to the West what will our position be?

If Putin uses tactical nuclear weapons in the Ukraine, what will our position be?

China, India, Israel are lukewarm to opposition because of their respective circumstances. If the Baltic state members of NATO are attacked will we honor our obligations? Do we have a line in the sand? And exactly what is it?

One benefit to Biden is that he can blame his incompetent management of our economy (inflation, gas prices, supply problems) on someone other than himself.

This is somewhat reminiscent of the Cuban missile crisis with the exact opposite result.

Hopefully, it won’t be similar to our initial reluctance to stop Hitler.
