Suns, Lakers to play in Vegas for Oct. 5 preseason game

The Phoenix Suns will play a preseason game Oct. 5 in Las Vegas against the Los Angeles Lakers at T-Mobile Arena going into the 2022-23 season.

The 7 p.m. game will be the first of back-to-back preseason games in Las Vegas for the Lakers, who play Minnesota on Oct. 6 at T-Mobile Arena.

Individual game tickets for the two matchups in Las Vegas go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. They will be sold on www.axs.com or at the T-Mobile Arena box office.

Suns-Lakers tickets prices are as follows: $37, $46. $58, $77, $88, $93, $101, $131, $158, $180 and $199, according to the Lakers news release Wednesday. Ticket prices for T-Wolves-Lakers are $34. $43, $55, $74, $84, $90, $96, $126, $147, $172 and $193.

The Lakers start their six-game preseason schedule Oct. 3 against Sacramento at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Their final three preseason games are Oct. 9 at Golden State, Oct. 12 against the Timberwolv­es and Oct. 14 at Sacramento.

The Suns haven’t lost to the Lakers since Game 3 in the 2021 Western Conference first round series. Phoenix responded with three straight wins to advance.

The Suns reached the 2021 finals before losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in six.

Phoenix won both preseason matchups heading into the 2021-22 season.

The Suns then swept the regularsea­son series, 4-0.

Their last win over the Lakers, 121-110, April 5 in Phoenix broke the franchise record for victories in a season set by the 1992-93 team and matched by the 200405 squad.

Phoenix finished the regular season with a 64-18 record to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs, but lost to Dallas in the conference semifinals in seven.’

Los Angeles won just 33 games and didn’t even reach the play-in tournament.
