Chandler woman sentenced for 2019 fatal stabbing

Alanna Marleice Jackson, 23, of Chandler was sentenced to 10 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to fatally stabbing a woman in 2019, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Arizona.

According to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney's Office on Thursday, Jackson and a man identified as Jose Luis Carpio, 25, fatally stabbed a woman on Oct. 27, 2019.

Jackson pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaught­er in March 2021.

Carpio also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15years in prison in May.

The case was investigat­ed by the Gila River Police Department and prosecuted by Raynette Logan with the U.S Attorney's Office in Phoenix, the statement said.
