Kenneth Frederick Greenough, PhD, age 90, son of the late Kenneth S. and Dorilda Greenough, passed peacefully in Chandler, AZ, on August 3, 2022. He was born on June 2, 1933 in Schenectad­y, N.Y. Ken was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1949 to 1954. He obtained advanced degrees in Chemistry and worked more than 40 years as a manager and consultant, including careers at Motorola, Signetics Corp., and Lockheed Missiles and Space Company. Ken also co-founded two pioneering high-tech companies, EXAR Integrated Systems in 1970 and Restoratio­n Technologi­es, Inc., in 1985. He retired in 2001. Ken is survived by his son, Mark K. (Jamie) Greenough, daughter, Mary Ellen Greenough, his sister’s (Jean A. Priess) daughters, Kristen Priess Orner, Kathleen Priess Muscari, and Kimberly Priess Teel. Ken is dearly missed by his family and extended family of many friends as a father figure, uncle, good neighbor, and mentor.

Cherie Abel Greenough of Chandler, Arizona passed on October 30, 2022 after an extended illness. She was 87. The youngest of Henry and Margaret Johnsen’s 10 children, Cherie was born November 20, 1934 in Bear River City, Utah. She attended Box Elder High School and the University of Utah where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Her accomplish­ments in the broadcasti­ng field were rewarded by her biography appearing in the first edition of “Who’s Who of American Women”. She lived in Rancagua, Chile, where she became fluent in Spanish and evolved into an accomplish­ed classical guitarist. In her later years, Cherie also became a competitiv­e ballroom dancer. In 1990 Cherie moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she met Ken Greenough, with whom she shared a beautiful and loving partnershi­p. She was an inspiratio­n to many and will be missed by her extended family and many longtime friends.
