2022 in Phoenix will again bring floats, decorated cars and festive performers to the streets near Steele Indian School Park. Starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, performers, massive balloons, floats, horses and vehicles will cruise through two miles of midtown Phoenix starting at Central and Montebello avenues. The route will head south down Central Avenue and turn east at Camelback Road, then resume southbound at Seventh Street, ending at Indian School Road. It will take about an hour for a float or parade entry to reach the end of the route. The Super Bowl LVII mascot, Spike, will lead this year’s parade as grand marshal in anticipation of the Feb. 12, 2023, Super Bowl at Glendale’s State Farm Stadium. Here’s how to attend the 2022 Electric Light Parade in Phoenix — or avoid the street congestion on Dec. 3.
