If you are looking for one-of-a-kind gifts for the people on your holiday shopping list, you are in luck: Eight holiday pop-up markets are open throughout December 2022 in metro Phoenix.

Featuring a variety of original creations made by local artisans, these fun and festive markets often include food trucks, live music, holiday decoration­s and other treats to enjoy while you are taking care of your gift buying.

Admission is free at most of the events below; some have a suggested donation of money or nonperisha­ble food.

Here are nine holiday markets to check out in metro Phoenix this December.

Little Cholla Holiday Market

Pickers Playground is bringing Little Cholla, a Mini-Mart back to Tempe. Shop at eight curated vintage booths as well as other local vendors and enjoy food, drinks and music.

Luminarias Holiday Market at Andaz Scottsdale Resort

At the third annual Luminarias Holiday Market, visitors can buy gifts from vendors selling clothes, accessorie­s, candles, art, novelty items and more while enjoying beautiful luminarias and music on the resort's Cholla lawn. If hunger strikes, check out the food and drink options.

Winter Artisan Market

The second annual Winter Artisan Market will take place at the Holland Community Center in collaborat­ion with the Sonoran Arts League. Shoppers can browse and purchase original creations — from jewelry to photograph­y and paintings — at this juried show featuring up to 75 regional artists.

Christmas Bazaar at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church

Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church will hold its 15th annual Christmas Bazaar with more than 70 vendors. Shop for pottery, toys, jewelry, yard art, fused glass and more. Shoppers are encouraged to bring nonperisha­ble food items or make a monetary donation to the Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center. Treat yourself to a goodie from Sweets & Treats bakery, have breakfast at Joyful Grounds Café or lunch at the K of C Savory Grille. The Wine Bar Bistro will be open noon-4 p.m. both days.

Christmas in Catlin Court

On Friday and Saturday nights in Glendale, you can browse historic Catlin Court's locally-owned boutiques and specialty shops, visit Santa Claus and a life-size gingerbrea­d house, watch local artists’ demonstrat­ions and participat­e in make-and-take craft activities. Pick up a walking map at the Arizona Informatio­n Center to get started.

Crafeteria at Frances Boutique

Crafeteria is back at Frances Boutique with four pop-up events in December. Buyers will find a rotating selection of crafts, apparel and art in the courtyard of Frances’ parking lot.

Junk in the Trunk pop-up shop

The team behind Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market is providing the chance to buy holiday gifts from local small businesses at this pop-up shop. Held at The Vintage Arcadia on three dates in December, it promises an evening of shopping, live music and drink specials from Chestnut at The Vintage.

The 2022 Phoestivus celebratio­n will be held at a new location in downtown Phoenix with 200 small business vendors. Phreddie the Yeti, The Hip Santa, the Phoestivus Pole and the Airing of Grievances will also be back during the two-day market. Food, drinks and entertainm­ent will be aplenty at this family-friendly and “good pet-friendly" gathering.
