Paradise Valley home sells for $4.75M to NY executives

The priciest metro Phoenix houses to sell during the week of Nov. 23 were spread out across Paradise Valley and Scottsdale. Buyers and sellers included New York executives, a yoga school owner and a Beverly Hills LLC.

Hal Baird paid cash for a new 5,042-square-foot house in Paradise Valley. Designed by PHX Architectu­re, the house with four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms also comes with butcher-block bar seating, a family room with 13-foot ceilings, a wet bar, a loft and an elevator. Shea Homes Arizona was the seller.

Matthew and Rachel Rednor paid cash for a 5,429-square-foot Paradise Valley house. Matthew is CEO of New York-based Decoded Advertisin­g and Rachel is an executive with Wall Street firm Morgan Stanley. The house has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, an executive office, motorized shades, skylights, a heated pool, an outdoor shower, a sports court and a six-hole putting golf course. The Santa Fe-style house with four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms also comes with several fireplaces, Venetian plaster walls, wood-beam ceilings, a theater, an exercise room and a large bar. Larry Graveel, president of the textile firm GFSI, sold it.

Dorothy Worthingto­n paid cash for a 3,541-square-foot house in north Scottsdale’s Silverleaf community. The house has three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a guest casita, a media room and an office. Beverly Hills-based Maroon Creek Holdings, led by James Payne, was the seller.

Mary Barton purchased a 3,713-square-foot house in north Scottsdale’s Desert Mountain community. The home with three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms also has glass walls, a front-gated courtyard and a walk-in pantry. DM19 Builders was the seller.
