Clear skies, warm temps expected in state
Sunny days are expected across Arizona over the weekend.
Warm temperatures are expected in metro Phoenix and in southern Arizona. A warmup is also expected in northern Arizona as well, with zero chances of rain across the state.
“It couldn’t be more picture-perfect. It’s going to be just cloudless, with temperature in the 70s,” Gabriel Lojero, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Phoenix, said.
The forecasted temperatures are slightly higher than usual for early February.
Temperatures will range from the mid-40s in the early morning to the mid-70s throughout the day in the Valley, according to Lojero. While no precipitation is expected, a feeble wind will make it feel a little bit cooler, he said.
Temperatures should go from a minimum of 39 to a maximum of 68 degrees Thursday.
For the weekend, Valley residents can expect highs in the 70s. Friday will get warmer, with a range from 40 to 73 degrees, while Saturday it should range between 44 and 76. Sunday should go from 44 to 75 instead.
In the Tucson area, temperatures should be quite similar. Thursday’s high will be in the mid to high 60s. Friday temperatures will vary from 40 to 72 degrees, while Saturday should bounce between 44 and 76.
“This weekend we are going to have a warmup. There’s a slight chance, about 20-40%, we’ll hit 80 degrees on Sunday,” Aaron Hardin, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Tucson, said.
A warmup is expected in northern Arizona and the Flagstaff area too, as temperatures should reach 50 degrees.
Thursday the lowest should be 15 and the highest 43 degrees. Friday temperatures will range from 21 to 45 degrees. Saturday will get warmer, going from 26 to 50 degrees, while Sunday should vary between 29 and 48.
