Former MLB pitcher paid $4M cash for Queen Creek mansion

A new Queen Creek mansion with chandelier­s, a movie room with a candy stand, a table tennis room and dual offices sold for cash. It was one of the priciest metro Phoenix houses to sell in mid-January.

Jason Merck, founder of CloudMed, bought a 6,452-square-foot Paradise Valley home with four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The house comes with a backyard pool and spa. Cameldale Land was the seller.

David and Lisa Miller of Connecticu­t paid cash for a 7,000-square-foot Paradise Valley house. Situated on the south side of Mummy Mountain, the home with four bedrooms and six bathrooms also comes with a wood-paneled office, an exercise room, a den with an outdoor patio, a negative-edge pool and an outdoor bathroom with a shower. R. Scott and Michelle Greer of the investment firm Numenor Ventures were the sellers.

Fund paid cash for a new 6,277square-foot Paradise Valley home with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The house also comes with a resort-sized heated pool, outdoor fire features, stackable slider doors, an office and a game room. PV Estate 9820 LLC of Nevada sold it.

Former MLB baseball pitcher Dennis Sarfate and his wife Jada paid cash for a 7,800-square-foot Queen Creek mansion. Sarfate played for the Milwaukee Brewers, the Houston Astros, and the Baltimore Orioles before retiring in 2021. The house has five bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a guest house, a pool with cabana, chandelier­s, a movie room

with a candy stand, a room for table tennis, dual offices, hand-blown European glass and custom marble floors. C Plus Holdings LLC was the seller.

Rory and Ciara Murphy bought a 5,186-square-foot Paradise Valley house on two acres. The home has four bedrooms and five bathrooms, a main room designed to showcase art, an outdoor kitchen and a casita. Ellen Giddens sold it. Cionne McCarthy of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s Internatio­nal Realty had the listing.
