Win with friends, family by hosting a Super Bowl party

Super Bowl LVII is next Sunday in our backyard at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. If you don’t have tickets to the big game, score extra points with your family and friends by hosting a Super Bowl party at your apartment home.

It may seem overwhelming to accommodate a large group of people in your space, but you won’t drop the ball if you plan ahead.

Kick off the party with snacks

It’s important to keep everyone fed to avoid emotions running high during the big game. Please everyone with an array of snacks that satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

Dips such as hummus, salsa and guacamole are all great options that are quick and easy. Guests will be able to satisfy their cravings without looking away from the TV too long.

Other finger foods such as chicken wings, nachos and pizza go hand in hand with football. They are easily prepared and widely enjoyed. For a healthier option, try a cauliflower crust for your pizza or lean turkey for your nachos or chili.

Take your guests’ potential allergies and diets into consideration. It’s always a good idea to have a vegetarian option, for example.

Prepare your food ahead of time so you’re not scrambling when guests arrive. You can even consider a potluck party and ask guests to bring a food item.

Tackle rearranging, ahead of time

decorating

Prepare your space ahead of time so there’s plenty of room for guests and optimal views of the TV for the game.

Introduce as much seating as possible around the TV, but make sure to avoid overcrowding your viewing room.

Ensure guests can get from the viewing room to the kitchen and bathroom without tripping or running into anything. Also, remove any fragile or valuable items ahead of time to avoid an accident.

Show your guests your team spirit by decorating your space with themed utensils, drinkware and plates. Consider hanging a banner or balloons with team colors.

It’s always better to stay away from any loud noisemakers, such as party blowers or poppers, out of respect for your neighbors.

Don’t get a penalty from neighbors, management

As always, be considerate of your neighbors and avoid hosting a party that becomes too rambunctious.

Make advance parking plans for your guests by reserving spaces if available and registering guests upon arrival if applicable. Review your community’s guidelines to see whether any could apply to your guests.

Follow these steps and properly plan ahead to become a Super Bowl party champion. And get ready for some fun, safe and friendly competition with family and friends.
