People planning to attend Super Bowl 2023 events in downtown Phoenix can get there for free by riding Valley Metro light rail on certain days.

Light rail rides will be free for people going to the Super Bowl Experience events at the Phoenix Convention Center and Margaret T. Hance Park and the Super Bowl Music Fest concerts at Footprint Center.

These rides are available thanks to partnerships between Valley Metro, the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee and local officials.

“This will be the most sustainable and family-friendly Super Bowl experience yet, thanks in great part to this program,” Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said in a statement. “This program leverages our investment in public transit and our commitment to keeping our city connected and accessible to our diverse community.”

To redeem a free ride, download the NFL OnePass app, which will contain a QR code under the “Rewards” tab. That code will allow you to ride Valley Metro light rail to and from the events for free.

The OnePass code will serve as a light rail fare Feb. 9-11 for travel to the Super Bowl Experience at the Phoenix Convention Center, and Feb. 9-12 for the Super Bowl Experience at Margaret T. Hance Park, according to the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee.

The code must be presented to a fare inspector upon request and is valid for one adult or a family traveling together.

Fans can get free light rail rides to and from Super Bowl Music Fest concerts scheduled for Feb. 9-11.

Riders must have their ticket while riding and show it to a fare inspector upon request.
