Melvin L. “Buck” Johnson

April 1, 1939-January 20, 2023

Melvin L. Johnson “Buck” passed peacefully at his home, from this life to eternal life with our Lord on January 20, 2023 surrounded by family and endless amounts of love, after suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. Buck was born in Clearwater Nebraska on April 1, 1939 to Howard and Millie Johnson. Buck lived in many parts of the United States and settled down in Phoenix Arizona when he met the love of his life Peggy Werking in 1955. Buck was a man who knew how to do everything; he had a successful vending machine business, landscaping business and had a love of classic trucks and cars. Buck could fix anything and was a source of knowledge on everything. Buck loved animals and had a way with them from the horses he took care of everyday, many dogs and his pet chickens, Henrietta and Maggie, and the strays that showed up to follow him around. Buck and Peggy were married 65 years. He always said his greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He loved Peggy and his family more than there are words to describe. Buck was the most amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in law and friend to so many. Buck is survived by his wife Peggy, his sons, Danny Johnson, Bob Johnson, Darren Johnson; his daughters Lori Johnson, Sherrie Biggs (Robert) son-in law and Jill Jackson. Buck is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and many, many loving friends that are more family than friends. Buck was a man of God, he lived it every day, and he walked the walk.
