Owner of garage door company paid $11M for Paradise Valley house

Buyers paid more than $22 million in cash for four of the five most expensive Valley houses to sell during the last week of January. Three of the homebuyers were from out of state.

Thomas Mello, the author of the book “Home Service Millionaire” and owner of A1 Garage Door Service, paid cash for a 15,600-square-foot Paradise Valley mansion. The house with eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms also has game, trophy and wine rooms. It comes with a theater, a guest house and a six-car garage. Richie and Barbara Malone were the sellers.

Nicholas and Eve Memmo of Manhattan Beach, California, paid cash for a 5,810-square-foot home in north Scottsdale’s Desert Mountain community. Nicholas is a co-founder of Vincente Capital Partners. The house with a stone facade comes with four bedrooms and 4 1⁄2 bathrooms. Ernest and Barbara Townsend sold it. Cynthia Kolander of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing.

Michael and Michelle Showalter of Ohio paid cash for a new Scottsdale house. The house wasn’t listed for sale. Builder Toll Brothers was the seller.

Barry and Melanie Zwillinger bought a 5,025-squarefoot Paradise Valley house with five bedrooms and 4 1⁄2 bathrooms. Barry is co-owner of Legend Produce. The house was renovated, and the west wing is set up for guests with its own private entrance and patio. The home also has large wall-to-wall sliders for outdoor entertaining. An LLC called 253 Homes sold it.

Richard and Teri West of Park City, Utah, paid cash for a new house near Old Town Scottsdale. The 4,342square-foot house with four bedrooms and 4 1⁄2 bathrooms has 12-foot ceilings, a solar system, an office, two islands in the kitchen, oversized pocket sliding glass doors, white hardwood floors, quartz countertops and an outdoor shower next to the pool. Adams Craig Acquisitions was the seller.
