Billy Ross Hill (USMC Retired) passed away February 12, 2023 at the age of 95. Bill was born and raised in Big Spring, Texas, one of seven children, son of Robert and Mamie Hill. Bill was a proud United States Marine, with 20 years of active service, retiring in 1964. Bill met his beloved wife Evelyn in 1951 in Geneva, Switzerland, marrying in 1954. Two children and many moves later they settled in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area in 1968. In addition to his military service, he enjoyed his work with the American Red Cross Service to Military Families Division, Sears, Camelback Inn golf course and Talking Stick golf course. Bill was a dedicated and avid golfer well into his 90’s. Bill developed many close life-long friendships over the years through the game of golf, and appreciated the continued support of these special friends in recent years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, two sisters and dearest wife Evelyn (2017). He is survived by his daughter Linda, son Kirk (Scott Powell), grandchildren Sean (Kristin), Erin (Michael), Nicholas (Emily), as well as seven great-grandchildren Parker, McKenna, Theodore, Harlow, Archer, Benjamin and Samuel. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wings of Hope Hospice and the many angels who dedicate their life to caring for others through this journey. Their support and loving care during recent months was an extraordinary blessing. Thank you also to Agave Manor Assisted Living, in particular Carleen and Annette.
