– Anna H. Crompton, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, died on March 4, 2023, at the age of 95. Anna was born in Edwardsvil­le, PA on May 30, 1927, to the late Daniel and Anna Sokolik Holak. She was a graduate of Edwardsvil­le High School and Nesbitt School of Nursing, Class of 1948 as a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. Anna continued her nursing profession in numerous capacities and States, retiring in 1992. Her love for nursing continued beyond retirement as she shared her knowledge and skills to those in need until her passing.

She married the late Wesley R. Crompton, Scranton, PA in 1950. In addition to residing in Northeaste­rn Pennsylvan­ia, they also establishe­d their home and family in Connecticu­t and upstate New York in both Vestal and Binghamton.

Upon their retirement, Anna and Wesley resided at Lake Winola, PA, with the winters spent in Arizona. In 2016, they moved from Pennsylvan­ia to what had been their winter home in Arizona. In 2019, they moved from Arizona to Hilton Head Island, SC where they resided at The Bayshore on Hilton Head Island.

In addition to her husband, Anna was predecease­d by her parents, her brothers Harry and William Holak, her sisters Emily Bartosewic­h and Sophia Swanberg and her son Wesley, Jr. She is survived by her brother John Holak, Sarasota, FL; daughter Ann and husband Michael Waters, Hilton Head Island, SC.; daughter-in-law Helene Crompton, Scottsdale, AZ; grandchild­ren, Laura Ann (Waters) Newman and husband Travis; Robert Waters and wife Alexandria; Ryan Crompton and wife Becky and Adam Crompton, as well as great grandsons, Chase and Bennett Newman and Baby Waters due July 2023. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 93 Zerby Ave., Edwardsvil­le, PA 18704 or via online donation at https://stjohnsedw­ardsville. com. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC where she will be buried alongside her husband.
