Retired DreamWorks Animation President Lew Coleman and HGTV reality show personality Pete de Best bought two of metro Phoenix’s priciest homes to sell during the first week of August.

Dina and Rick White bought a 9,477square-foot mansion in north Scottsdale’s Desert Mountain community. The house with six bedrooms and 8 1⁄2 bathrooms has an elevator; a big fireplace next to a wet bar; a music room; a primary suite with a breakfast bar and two bathrooms; a media room; a safe room; and a wine room. Outside, there’s a kitchen and a two-way fireplace. Michael Murphy Jr. was the seller.

Retired DreamWorks President Lew Coleman and his wife, Anne Solbraekke, bought an 8,142-square-foot Paradise Valley mansion. He oversaw the animation studio when it created “Shrek the Third,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” and “Kung Fu Panda.” The house has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, brass hardware from Amsterdam, granite countertops, floor-to-ceiling windows, a glass wine room and an oversized pool with a firepit. Richard and Tonnie Karle, who bought the home in mid-2022, sold it. Richard Karle is president of the car wash chain Quick N Clean. Joan Levinson of Realty ONE Group had the listing.

Joseph and Cheryl Janik sold it.

The Mediterranean-style home with five bedrooms and 5 1⁄2 bathrooms has its own gate, a casita, an executive office, a wine room and 12 new quartzite slabs. James Gilligan and Karen Dumontier sold it.
