Jacquelyn Elly (Hansen) Wallace
SCOTTSDALE – Jacquelyn Elly (Hansen) Wallace, also lovingly known to friends as “Jackie” and to family as “Nonny,” of Scottsdale, peacefully passed away on August 31,2023 after 32 years of battling cancer. She was born September 19, 1942, to Harry and Lillian Hansen of Chicago. Jackie spent most of her childhood in Phillips, Wisconsin with her grandparents on their farm. She moved to Chicago in her teenage years, and she attended Mayfair Bible Church where she met the love of her life, John Wallace, Jr.
Ultimately, after many years in Chicago, Jackie moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to escape the winter weather. She worked for the Scottsdale Public Library for more than 25 years. She had a love for reading, and she will always be remembered as “the book lady” to family and close friends. Jackie dedicated her time as a Sunday school teacher for many years at Scottsdale Bible Church. She had an incredible sense of faith, and she would attribute her whole life and her successes to Our Lord. Jackie loved adventure, which led her to travel the world with her husband.
Jackie is described as a fighter, and she lived every day like it was her last by trusting in God’s plan. She inspired others to pursue their dreams and to never give up. Her memory will live on through all her family and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents Harry and Lillian Hansen, Sister Harriett Loberg, Brother Harry Hansen and recently her husband of 63 years, John Wallace, Jr. Surviving her are her two children: John (Sandy) Wallace and Jodi (Mark) Malenfant, her sisters Gayle Hansen, Linda Frederick, and Lilli (Bill) Lepola. Also surviving Jackie are her five grandchildren, Gregory(Megan) Malenfant, Jessica (Jamie) Cunningham, Taylor (Taylor) Malenfant, Colton Malenfant, and Haylee Malenfant, as well as her five great-grandchildren John Taylor Malenfant, Easton Malenfant, Dallas Malenfant, Levi Malenfant, and Davis Cunningham as well as numerous other family members and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at Grace Chapel at Scottsdale Bible Church, 7601 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, Arizona 85260, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
