Charlotte Raley Katz, surrounded by her husband and children, passed away on August 25, 2023. Charlotte was born on August 19, 1942, in Macon, GA to the late Romas E. and Charlotte B. Raley. She was salutatori­an of her high school graduation and earned a scholarshi­p to Wesleyan College. She was employed for many years in the legal profession in Macon and Washington D.C., and later recognized for excellence in a real estate career. She was a master tournament bridge player, and a curious and energetic world traveler, passions she shared with her husband. Charlotte loved to host and entertain often, with family, friends, and neighbors always welcome to her home for a wonderful meal and lots of laughs. She eagerly gave much of her time to her children and grandchild­ren, coaching, tutoring and supporting them in all they pursued.

Charlotte will be celebrated in life by her husband and best friend of 45 years, Richard Alan Katz, her children Ralph Edward Gustin, Laura Katherine Katz (Kara) and Helen Katz Johnson (Mark) and 9 grandchild­ren and 4 great grandchild­ren. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Madelyn Grovenstei­n and Gwynell Davis, and her son John Patrick “Pat” Katz.

A celebratio­n of life, including a reception with the family, will be held on October 6, 2023 10:00 a.m. at Mariposa Gardens located at 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society.
