Donald J. Coppin

-

SCOTTSDALE – Donald Jon Coppin was born on February 2, 1945, to Leon and Camilla Coppin. Don died on August 4, 2023, he was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Nancy Coppin, brother David (Charlotte) Coppin, daughter Alyson Coppin Samarpan (Erik), and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed as he was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Don attended York High School and Northwestern University (5-year co-op engineering program). Don began working for Automatic Electric and retired from the company as it was then called, AG Communication Systems.

In 1968 Don married the love of his life, Nancy and over the 55 years together, Don and Nancy enjoyed every moment spent making cherished memories with their family and friends in the US and abroad. Don was known to family and friends as the “grill master” as he chose to learn while in high school.

An avid reader throughout his life, Don was frequently reading several books at a time – always with the TV turned to a sports game.

He was kind, quiet, hardworking, intelligent, and always generous with his time for those he loved. We are grateful for the gift of his presence in our lives. May he rest in peace knowing his memory will be forever in our hearts.

A service celebrating Don’s life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11 am, at Saint Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church, 6715 North Mockingbird Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85253.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Barnabas (saintbarnabas.org) would be very much appreciated.
