Coyotes to cut ties with Ruzicka

The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Adam Ruzicka on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract after a social media video of him surfaced.

Ruzicka posted to his Instagram stories a video of himself with a white powder appearing to be cocaine and a credit card on a counter.

The Coyotes announced the roster move on Friday and said they would have no further comment at this time.

Ruzicka had been with the Coyotes since he was claimed off waivers from the Calgary Flames on Jan. 25. The center had no points in three games with the Coyotes after posting nine points in 39 games with Calgary.

The Coyotes have set a precedent this season, as they terminated Alex Galchenyuk's contract in July following his arrest. Galchenyuk was involved in a hitand-run incident in Scottsdale and was shown on video making violent threats and saying racial slurs to officers.

Ruzicka is the second NHL player this season to have his contract terminated, following Corey Perry with the Chicago Blackhawks after it was said the veteran winger violated team workplace policy.

Cardinals make front-office changes

The Cardinals reportedly have parted ways with two members of their front office, according to ESPN reports. First

came word that Quentin Harris would not longer be vice president of player personnel, and then new report indicated the team is separating from Dru Grigson, its director of player personnel.

Grigson was entering his 16th season with the Cardinals and third as director of player personnel after being promoted in 2021 from assistant director of player personnel. He was the Cardinals’ director of college scouting from 2013-18.

The Cardinals have not officially announced the departures of either Grigson or Harris.
