PHOENIX - William (Bill) Gilbert Palacio, November 8, 1952 – April 8, 2024. Bill stated, “I began on November 8, 1952 in Phoenix, Arizona – South Phoenix, at the time not yet incorporated, and now

(as the rest of the city) unrecognizable from its origins. The postcard version is that I was raised, schooled, worked and retired (and then retired) all within about 25 miles from the hospital in which I was born, more native than even most natives. I have traveled from Washington State to Maine, from bustling New York and cosmopolitan Paris and Brussels to the concentric canals of Amsterdam, the bridged islands of Stockholm and a mirror-laked Norwegian fjord, but always, always returning to the Valley, a city of friends, without earthquakes or hurricanes or blizzards or tornadoes and in which one need not shovel the sun off the sidewalks.” Bill graduated from ASU as a Chemist, the first time. And, after a brief career as a Chemist, Bill decided to return to ASU to acquire a Computer Science degree. Once graduated, he started his Software Engineering career at Honeywell IAC, for almost 15 year, and then Rockwell Automation, for almost 12 years. Bill lived in north Phoenix throughout his professional career and retired at the age of 58. Bill is survived by a sister, Alicia Palacio and her husband Kerry Smith living in the state of Washington. In lieu of flowers a donation to Hospice of the Valley, or any other charitable organization you desire, is preferred. A Visitation will be Friday, April 26th 2024 - 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a service at 2:00 PM and reception to follow at Hansen Mortuary Chapel 8314 N. 7th Street Phoenix, Arizona.
