Action: The board approved a resolution to reopen Westchester school, which closed in 2003, by August 2014 as an elementary school. The configuration – K-3, K-5 or a choice school will be determined late this year. The school will also need approximately $305,000 worth of renovations including painting, removing walls, upgrading playground equipment and generally getting the building up to code. The Decatur schools central office is scheduled to move out of Westchester into the Beacon Hill facility by May 2014.
