- Balsamic marinated flank steak

Your own

is just what the family ordered. In a small bowl, combine ¼ cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoon­s olive oil, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil, 1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard, 1 clove minced garlic and ½ teaspoon sugar. Mix well; pour into a resealable plastic bag. Add 1 (1 ½-pound) flank steak. Seal bag and marinate in refrigerat­or 6 hours to overnight; turn occasional­ly. To grill, remove steak; discard marinade. Grill on medium, covered, 11 to 21 minutes for medium- to medium-rare doneness; turn occasional­ly. Remove from grill; let stand 5 minutes. Carve into thin slices. Prepare your own oven-roasted potatoes and carrots and add a romaine salad and whole-grain rolls. For a special dessert, slice coconut cake. Plan ahead: Save enough steak for Monday. Save enough cake and cook enough potatoes for Tuesday.
