Outkast to play Atlanta in fall

Hip-hop group will make homecoming trip Sept. 27.

Hey, Atlanta, Outkast is coming home.

The hip-hop duo of Antwan “Big Boi” Patton and André “3000” Benjamin will play a true hometown show Sept. 27 at Centennial Olympic Park.

The one-day concert festival, dubbed “Outkast: ATLast,” will feature special guests, to be announced. Music will start at 5 p.m.

Outkast recently returned for its first live shows in years and has been a visible presence on the summer festival circuit. Big Boi and André 3000 played a rousing set at CounterPoint Music Festival in late April outside of Rome, Georgia, but many fans felt that didn’t represent a genuine homecoming.

“It’s only right that we give the hometown what we’ve been giving the rest of the world, Atliens in ATL, homecoming! Festival Killers!” said Big Boi in a statement.

“Coming from Atlanta gave us the freedom to be whatever we ever wanted to be because no one was paying attention. Now that everyone is, we want to say thank you,” added André 3000.

Tickets for “Outkast: ATLast” will go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday through radio and promoter presales and then at 10 a.m. Wednesday to the general public. Tickets are $55 for general admission and $105 for Golden Circle (each price range is limited to six tickets per buyer) and $250 for VIP (limited to four per buyer). Since this is being held at a park, there are no actual seats.
