Efron, Hough and Dobrev pal around in Buckhead
Julianne Hough and Zac Efron are in Atlanta filming “Dirty Grandpa” (which we keep hearing is going to get a new name) with Robert De Niro. Nina Dobrev calls Atlanta home and stars in locally filmed “The Vampire Diaries.”
On Saturday night the ladies hit The Painted Pin, a swank bowling alley in Buckhead that serves a gourmet menu and offers a full bar. We’re told Efron joined them later for a game or two.
The movie, about a guy who takes his lascivious grandpa down to Florida for spring break, is nearly done filming here. They’re coming your way next, Tybee Island. We heard a splashy scene that was originally going to take place in Atlanta is instead going coastal.
Rick Ross celebrates
Rapper Rick Ross bought boxing champ Evander Holyfield’s 109room mansion in south metro Atlanta last year but might still be having the place decorated to his liking. So when it was time for his 39th birthday celebration last week he settled on a swank Plan B with a fun gathering at Ocean Prime.
His girlfriend Ming Lee, fellow Maybach Music Group artist DJ Scream and industry friends Dina Marto and Catherine Brewton enjoyed Luc Belaire, (the bubbly rosé brand for which Ross is a celebrity endorser) and birthday cakes in the shape of a Belaire bottle and his record label.
Mindy Kaling’s first trip to Atlanta
Last month comic actress Mindy Kaling asked her fans via Twitter what she should do while in town and posted a shocking revelation: “I have never been to this great American city!” She must have gotten great tips because she and her team from “The Mindy Project,” who were here for the “aTVfest” event at SCAD-Atlanta, had a blast. They enjoyed dining at Gunshow and The Spence during their down time and raved about both their outings and their time at SCAD-Atlanta. “We are having the best time sharing stories and meeting students,” she posted. “I love Atlanta.”
